TCO Extension Via DocuSign

Step 1 (For PMs Only) Request TCO Extension

  • To obtain a CO/TCO or TCO EXT, create a workflow to request your certificate of occupancy by using the CO/TCO/TCO EXT Request workflow template.

    1. Visit: https://documentmanagement.capnet.ucla.edu/Workflows/List/Template
    2. Search for "Engineering-Approval: CO/ TCO/ TCO EXT Request"
    3. Click: "Create (based on this Template)" button
    4. In the Workflow Summary Section list the Certificate Type being requested
    5. In the General Instructions Section include required information
    6. Click the "Start Process" button to start the workflow


Step 2 (For PMs Only) Filling out the DocuSign Form

  • As the PM, you will be the first to receive an email notifying you of an envelope that needs your review and approval. This email is sent from DocuSign.

  • Click on the Review Documents link in the email to start the review and signature process. Once you click the link, the DocuSign user interface will open in a web browser.

Step 3 (For PMs Only) Filling out the Form

  • Fill out the required fields in red.
  • Extension # Field: If this is the 1st extension request enter 1, if this is the 2nd extension enter 2... and so on.


  • When you have completed entering all of the required fields in the envelope, a FINISH button will appear in the blue bar at the top of the page.

  • Once the button is pressed, the envelope will be forwarded to the next reviewer/signer.

Step 4 Add Recipient Information

  • PM will receive second email from DocuSign to review. Click on the Review Documents link in the email.
  • Enter the email address and name of all the recipients of the TCO/CO
    • Verify that the email and name are associated with the correct role e.g.("Contractor")
  • Click COMPLETE AND SEND


Final Notes

  • All signers will receive a notice of completion for an envelope with which they were involved.
  • The completion email will always contain a link to the completed envelope, where users can view and download the completed documents.
